November's Icon of the Month is the Portland Vase, which was considered by Josiah Wedgwood as the pinnacle of his achievement as a master potter. You can view Josiah's own copy of the Portland vase in the new Wedgwood Museum, which opened in Barlaston near Stoke on Trent on 24 October. Previous Icons of the Month include the Balti Dish, the Sultanganj Buddha, John Baskerville, A Common Humanity, The Spitfire, The Bournville Village Trust, The Lunar Society, The Iron Bridge, Ann Hathaway’s Cottage, and The Wedgwood Slave Medallion.
