Astrological calendar for the year 1055 (1645 AD, Arabic, Naskhi script).
The Islamic calendar is calculated from the date of the flight of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622, known as the Hijra (migration), and expressed AH (Anno Hegirae). It is a lunar calendar of 12 lunar months, making each Islamic year 354 days, 11 days shorter than the solar year. For this reason Islamic holy days fall on different days of the solar calendar, shifting by 11 days each solar year. But in order to keep in step with the lunar phases, every two or three years an extra day is added to the last month resulting in a 355 day year.
